for the past 25 years I have been weaving rugs using wool and hair from a variety of animals. Beginning with my experience as a shepherd concerned with fiber production I have been fascinated by the connection between animal, thread and textile. My work attempts to articulate this connection by putting the focus on the animal. The smell, feel, texture and character of the fiber I experience as I prepare, spin, and weave with it guide me in the design of the rugs.
